RUSA Awards, Summer 2021
R-12:
Rodney Geisert (2)
Spencer Klaassen
Paul Toigo
American Explorer Award:
Ron Alexander - starting over and already up to 4
Mike & Nancy Myers - starting over and up to 3
Greg Pottorff - 10
Karen Winterhalter - 10
The above was in the latest American Randonneur, but I am aware of a couple other awards that will be in the next edition:
1. Ron Alexander earned the Ultra-P-12 Award
2. Joe Edwards earned his 6th R-12 (I was riding with him) on Saturday.
Looking towards the future:
September 11th is the 100th Anniversary of the BRM. They will be having a special medal for doing a ride that day.

I am running this ride out of the Nebraska region. Right now (don't book a hotel yet), we are planning on running a route that Joe Edwards designed: Missouri River 200 K out of Glenwood, IA. It is a three state 200 K that I have ridden as a permanent. Personally, I think it is a nice route and has nice logistics at the start and finish. Mark your calendar and pray it isn't a scorcher like today or it has a killer north wind.
Ride lots,
Spencer

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle." - Ernest Hemingway
