Hi, KC and Nebraska Randonneurs!
A note about some small changes to the Ride Calendar for both KC and NE events.
This is mainly cosmetic, but I wanted to make everyone aware of the change.
Bullets points at the top, photos and details near the bottom:
Key Take-aways:
- Condensed Entries: Same content, fewer words; just links
- Easier to navigate on mobile devices
- Less cluttered, less redundancy
- Event Details & Parking links provide addt'l info, photos, maps
- Biggest change: Cue Sheets
- New Cue Sheet links:
- Link brings you to a customizable PDF page
- Select your options, click the blue "Create PDF" button
- Works on Mobile or Home computer - print, or save as a file on phone
- Matches RWGPS cue-for-cue, updates are always synced
- Old-style Excel Cue Sheets still available!
- Click on the "Legacy Excel Cue Sheet" where available
- Keeping both formats available in 2025 while we transition
If you have questions or find issues, please let me know - happy to help!

Before and after of the Calendar Entry format:
All the information is the same as before, but is condensed into a smaller hyperlink. The result is a cleaner event listing that is easier to navigate on mobile devices and computers alike.
Long live the humble cue sheet. Lots of riders have adopted GPS handlebar technology for navigation, but I'm here to tell you: in a pinch, having a cue sheet in the bottom of your seat bag is a ride-saver, even if you never need it. They don't glitch, they don't run out of battery, and they weigh practically nothing.
This enhancement also saves your organizers tons of time. We work hard to get the GPS tracks just right, and this method builds the cue directly from those files. This means we can get updated information to you more quickly leading up to an event.
Example of both Cue Sheet options in a calendar listing:
If a particular route did not previously offer a cue sheet, or the previous version was already out-of-date, you will only see the "Cue Sheet" link listed.
Clicking on the "Cue Sheet" link brings you to this page (above).
Note, it will confirm the name of the RWGPS link you're creating a cue sheet from.
Select your prefered page/paper options - in most cases, the defaults work just fine.
The resulting cue sheet (in Landscape mode) prints in a way that allows the rider to fold it in half, which fits nicely in a zip-lock bag for quick access and easy reading. Other formats and scaling are available, and can be tweaked to better fit into a handlebar bag map case, or for better legibility.
