600 K & 200 K x 2 weekend plan
May 15th

600 K:
First of all, there appears to be some construction on the ride around Eudora.  The options are to either take gravel around the 1 mile stretch or divert on the paved roads.  More than likely, we will stay on the pavement and move the control to Casey's (instead of Kwik Shop).

Secondly, US-56 going from Bushong to Council Grove has been a little nerve wracking for some riders.  I am looking into some options.  I have been making some phone calls BUT will need to drive out and make sure.

Right now, possible options are:
1) Take the bike trail (non-paved) from Bushong into Council Grove
2) Take US-50 from Emporia to Strong City and then go north on KS-177 to Council Grove.  The problem with this idea is some bridge work on 50 & 177.
3) Continue US-50 and then turn north near Toledo.  Yy Rd(?) going north.  It appears to turn to gravel.  I am pretty sure that it is paved from Dunlap to Council Grove (Dunlap Rd).

200 K x 2 weekend:
We will also be offering a 200 K out to Emporia on Saturday that will follow the same route as the 600 K.  On Sunday, we can ride the 200 K back to KCK.  More than likely, I will ride this option as I am planning on traveling to Ohio for a 600 K in June.  Looking forward to a nice dinner and a trip to Radius Brewing.

Ride lots,
Spencer

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.  Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle." - Ernest Hemingway
