National Epilepsy Awareness Month has been celebrated since 1969.
The observance has been recognized in most years by a White House message from the President. In 2003, Congress passed a resolution declaring November as National Epilepsy Awareness Month.
Nebraska joined them on November 7th 2012 when Governor Heineman signed a proclamation to have Nebraska recognize November as National Epilepsy Awareness Month officially.
