To all my past acquaintances, clients, walkers, sponsors, vendors and friends,

Ten years ago, I decided to start an epilepsy walk in Nebraska. I truly felt it was a way to bring families affected by epilepsy together and support each other, even if it was just for one day each year.

I am writing you today to let you know that I am most grateful for the amazing memories over these past ten years, but it is time to say goodbye. I am handing over the walk to another Nebraska epilepsy non-profit who will bring new life into this most revered annual event.

If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello and that is exactly what I am hoping will happen. The only time a goodbye is painful is when you know you’ll never say hello again so I will try my best to not feel the sorrow that comes with handing over something so precious because I know to be true that I will still be supporting the epilepsy walk and planning to say hello to you all at this year’s event August 25th walk at Chalco Hills.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Thank you Midwest YouCan Foundation for agreeing to take over the walk and do it the justice it deserves.

Thank you everyone for your support these past ten years.

Thank you to my family who helped make this idea a reality.

How lucky I was to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Yours most sincerely,

Stacey Doty
