I've thought this as well. otoh, is that what you want? is Tom Osborne model of one coach, staying at one place, doing one thing for twenty or thirty year that reality in the 21st century?

Reality is whatever the coach makes it. Does Turner have that in him?

When asked if that's what I want (regarding Gill staying at Nebraska until he retires)...why not?!? Sure it doesn't look like reality in this day and age -- but isn't that part of what has always made Nebraska football "special"? There were always many things you could point to that made Husker football unique. One was the stability in the coaching staff. I for one would love to be unique again!

That being said, the one bad thing is that if Turner Gill would somehow "fail" at Nebraska -- that would likely be much more painful than if one of the other guys would fail. Seeing "one of our own" fail is never easy. I think I am still rooting for Turner. And if Bo would come as DC and assistant HC -- all the better!!!
