Jordon Congdon visits with Pete Carroll
http://www.insidesocal.com/usc/archives/2007/01/new_kicker.html#more
Not sure what to make of this. My hunch is he was fed up with the
lack of trust on long field goals (deserved or not). He also could
just be homesick.
Some people on the rivals board are saying he lied about the whole
liver thing, but I believe they found another donor so he didn't
have to.

So then why doesn't he come back to Lincoln? Unless there are other
reasons for him to leave the team, it sounds like the one reason he
gave isn't a reason anymore.

About two thirds of the way down the article John Mabry says,
"Congdon's most majestic kick was a 47-yarder that would have been
good from 57". According to Mabry, Congdon made 6 of 7 attempts
between 40 and 50 yards. Say what you want, I kicked some in high
school, if you can make 6 of 7 from >40 yards, you don't have a weak
leg.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that something else
is at play here.

My understanding is that the high school kickers can kick off of a tee,
which accounts for some longer field goals.
Did he show that kind of distance?
