: Does anyone have a list, or remember who the Husker announcers were for
: the various radio stations carrying Husker football before the birth of
: the Husker network in 1983?
This should be a fun question!
I don't have a complete list, and I can only go back to 1977, but
here's a start. I may try to call Don Gill to see if he can help fill
in some of the missing pieces.
Prior to the 1983 season, at least four stations carried Husker games,
but I can't recall the 4th station (it was in Omaha).
KFAB: Lyell Bremser through 1983, the first year KFAB had the exclusive
rights, then Kent Pavelka (1984-1996)
I think Kent was the color commentator for Lyell for a number of
years, Gary Sadlemyer was the color commentator for Kent.
KLIN: Don Gill (Don did about 10 years of Husker football on KLIN,
but I don't remember who worked with him or who he followed.)
KFOR: Dick Perry, Tim Moreland (about 1978-1991), Ray Scott (1992)
Adrian Fiala was the color commentator for a number of years
I think Dennis Claridge did sideline work

Big red fan
Wow carried the games for at least 40 years. Some of the early announcers
that I listened to were Tom Daley, Tip Saggau in the late '40's, Jack Sandler
one year, and Jack Payne did them for many years after Saggau, say 1950
through 62-63,perhaps.
The name you are searching for is Joe Patrick.
