With FSU's win last weekend they became the first team to win 100 games
in this decade. They have a 100-13-1 record in the 90's.

How many games have the Huskers won? We have to be very close to 100.

I think NU is 99-15-1.

The Huskers record is 99-15-1. We hopefully will have win #100 tomorrow.
Nebraska's record from 1980-89 was 103-20-0. In the '70's it was 98-20-4.
I think NU will be the only team to ever win 100 games in consecutive
decades, and perhaps the only team ever to win 100 in two decades due in
part to the larger number of games per season now than in the past.

This year five teams could reach 100 wins. FSU already has, Nebraska
needs one more win, Florida needs 4 more wins, Tennessee needs 9, and Penn
State has to run the table.

The larger number of games per season will make it EASIER for teams to win
100 games in a decade. What will make it harder are the scholarship
restrictions and other factors which create greater parity in college
football.

BTW, for those of you who realize that the next millennium starts Jan. 1,
2001, NOT Jan. 1, 2000, shouldn't the decades be measured 1991-2000,
1981-1990, etc.? :)

Nebraska is 99-15-1 in the '90s. FSU is 100-13-1 over the same time period.
It will be Nebraska's second consecutive 100-win decade! Only 3 other D-1
teams have had a 100-win decade.

Alabama 70s 103-16-1
Nebraska 80s 103-20-0
Oklahoma 70s 102-13-3
BYU 80s 102-26-0

Although Oklahoma only won 93 games in the 50s they continue to hold the
record for the winningest decade with a win percentage of .895. Even if FSU
runs the table, the closest to this mark they can get is .883. So, it is
easier to accomplish 100-win decades these days with the post-season games
and so many teams playing 12 or even 13 game seasons.

Florida, Tennessee, and Penn State could reach 100 this year too.
Here are the top teams of the decade to date:

FSU 100-13-1
Nebr. 99-15-1
Florida 96-18-1
Tenn. 91-20-2
PSU 91-23-0
Miami (FL) 85-25-0
OSU 87-24-3

(facts from CNNSI)
