Hi Ted--We're not as young as we once were, are we?

Too true. How are you Pastor Mac, and where in the world are you
these days?

I'm still in southern Indiana (Bloomington), and hit my 60th last
year. Kindly, Kathy did not try to throw me a big bash, so that
helped. All three of our kids seem to be doing well.

I had to get hearing aids a few years back, and the ol bod is more
achy all the time. Still, these things beat the alternatives.
Both of my parents passed a couple of years ago, and Kathy's are
in declining health.

We now have a grandson in Portland, ME, and are enjoying the fun
of that (when we can get out there). We get out on our tandem
pretty regularly (rode across Nebraska in June), and enjoy
ballroom dancing together.

I still retain my old NetINS account, though haven't used it as
primary in many years.

Here still in Northern NJ. Nancy has recovered from a fall last Labor
Day--we were out there dropping off dear daughter at Calvin College,
our alma mater--and I was to preach at a local church. Checking out of
the hotel we were at and just left the room when Nancy apparently
stumbled and I heard her hit the floor. I turned and saw the R leg at a
very odd angle. Person in the room where Nancy was laying in front of
ended up being an exercise physiologist and she put her hand on Nancy's
head and said "Don't move!" First responders came and immobilized the
leg and the x-ray showed a complete break of the femur. Orthopedic
surgeon invariably this was due to excessive use of Fosamax. She was on
it far too long and literature is now clear extended usage causes
osteoclasts on the femur and mandible. Go figure. Had to have a rod
inserted to put it back together. L side needed same surgery as that
was literally ready to break. Took about 5 months to get her fully
ambulatory.

Janell is starting her senior year at Calvin, she's looking at a BFA
(photography concentration) and a business minor. Paul graduated
earlier this year from Penn State and majored in mech. eng. Most
importantly, he got a job! He's working for the Army at Picatinny
Arsenal which is about 20-30 mins away doing research in fluid dynamics.

As you can tell, I don't check usenet like I used to but then again,
usenet has largely vanished.

What a drag! Glad she is back to getting around again.

Glad to hear the family is doing ok. I've recently opened a new
account on panix, and am enjoying the local groups--that don't
propagate to Usenet. A few old timers still hang out on the
recovery group I've been in for decades, so it's not dead yet.
