We currently have been streaming via the the Spectrum app with a Roku on a non-smart TV. We cannot pause Spectrum Live TV with the Roku. We were told by a rep that if we get rid of our DVR box and get the Spectrum DVR cloud, we will be able to pause live TV. We can't test this out first, as we were told we can't have both the cloud and the box. Please confirm that we can indeed pause live TV when streaming with the Roku if we get rid of the box and use the spectrum app and cloud. I am getting different answers from calling Spectrum and the technicians. I don't want to get rid of the DVR box and plan to use the app, DVR cloud, and Roku if I can no longer pause regular live TV. A straight answer would be great, since every time I call in and ask I am told something different.
In order to pause live TV, there needs to be a recording function in place like the one you find in a DVR or traditional set top box. CloudDVR only plays recorded content, it does not support recordings that are in progress. At this time, Live TV cannot be paused using the Spectrum TV App on any device, including Roku.
Our tv's currently have a spectrum cable box for live tv, and a roku for emby. We use the tv remote to switch between hdmi ports. I'd like to just watch live tv via emby if possible. I'm planning to ditch the roku, and just use a mini pc either running emby theater or kodi w/ emby. Currently checking out kodi, it's interesting, but training the family on a new interface will just create more tension, so just using emby theater is preferred right now.
I do not recommend self install. It's worth the cost to put spectrum on the hook for the installation which probably requires a a tuning adapter and all the proper set up on their end. Plan on at least 4 hours with the tech if you get one who knows what they are doing.
I just spent an hour at my local Spectrum store. Their computers suck, the tech tried to order one, it wouldn't let him. The manager tried for 30 minutes, it wouldn't let him. He tried to order inventory for his store, wouldn't let him. He tried to schedule a tech, and have the tech bring a card, wouldn't let him. He called around to the other local spectrum stores, nobody had one.
Figures, I just checked, good 'ole FedEx says they made a delivery attempt, which is a lie, I've been here all day, it's raining. Maybe they forgot to knock. So, maybe tomorrow. I doubt it. Probably have to wait until Monday, and tape a note on the door "hey fedex dude please knock or just leave the package"

And today, it is live in portions of our network with 5G devices already upgraded in the field. AT&T was among the first to present and champion this technology, eventually driving it into 5G standards. DSS will now play an essential role in widespread 5G adoption.
DSS is an important steppingstone on our path to nationwide 5G. The software-based technology allows us to bypass the process of re-farming spectrum in the near term, which ultimately means a smoother transition and expedited 5G adoption.

It is important for parents and other family members to teach their loved one how to stay safe and what to do if they feel threatened or have been hurt in any way. It can sometimes be helpful to give a person with a disability a bracelet or other item that has his or her name, address, phone number, and disability on it in case he or she gets lost.
