Hello,

Thank you for the update!
I just wanted to confirm that we're prioritizing safe bike & pedestrian connections to & through the future Park Hill Park. I've sent this request previously, but never got a confirmation.

I did my best to mark those concerns on the draft framework in yellow.

Please take a look at the Denver Moves: Bikes Update.

In no particular order...
- 39th Ave Greenway ends at 39th & Harrison. Please plan a direct connection from there to the entrance at 38th & CO Blvd.
- The park across Colorado Blvd seems to be excluded. Please include an upgrade to that shared-use path, or let us know when that will be fixed.
- The neighborhood immediately to the South needs a safe pedestrian crossing somewhere along 35th. I mapped one at Birch St as an example, instead of Ash as was originally planned with the development.
- There is a bikeway along Dahlia to the North & South, but then that seems to have been omitted. Please connect that bikeway while also keeping it closed to car traffic. Worth noting that this is the most direct connection to the Sand Creek Trailhead.
- Please add a connection to the Smith Road shared-use sidewalk that connects to the 40th & Colorado Station.

Lastly...
Please confirm that one or more of the restrooms will be open year-round & that a couple of the water fountains are freeze-proof.

None of the restrooms or water fountains in City Park are currently functioning, which shouldn't be replicated with this project.

Thank you in advance for your attention to these issues.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson

Park Rules Reminder

We’ve truly enjoyed seeing the community enjoy the Park Hill Park over the past few months. It’s been wonderful to have the gates open and the space activated! As a reminder, this park is being managed a bit differently than others in our system. Here are a few important things to keep in mind during your visit:

  1. Park Hours: Open daily from sunrise to sunset. Since the park does not yet have lighting, we are prioritizing public safety by closing the gates at sunset.
  2. Pack It In, Pack It Out: Operational services at this location are currently limited. We kindly ask that you take any trash or belongings with you when you leave to help keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.
  3. Park Rules: All standard Denver Parks and Recreation rules apply. Learn more here.

We know neighbors are excited about future enhancements to the park. While we await the implementation of the Vision Plan, we’ll be evaluating available resources and capacity throughout 2026. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work toward creating an amazing regional park in the Park Hill community!

Do you have a memorial tree at the park? 🌳

If you were involved in planting a memorial tree at the park before the land was owned by the City, or know someone who was, please reach out to Denver Parks and Recreation to learn the latest on the status of the trees and ensure we can work together as the park is built out. Please email laura....@denvergov.org or add your information here.
