Hi all,, on the 25 pin accessory connector on the mcs2000, the ones a lot of us just got, which 2 pins do I need to use for connecting an external speaker. I have a pinout I found online but something seems off to me, it looks like for the internal speaker, pins 1 and 3 are tied together on the plug I've been using? from what I see, it looks like that's what it should be for the external speaker, unless I have my pin configuration wrong. Thanks, 73

For the internal speaker pin 1 and 2 should be connected. Kind of
concerned if your internal speaker was working with 1 and 3 jumpered...

I might have the pin configuration wrong, I can't see it, but if it's odd
numbered pins on one side, even on the other, 1 and 3 are jumpered, if not,
I need to know where 3 is.

Here's a picture. The white jumper is across pins 1 and 2 enabling the internal speaker.

John...

With the interface side of the cable facing down...  the wider part of the connector towards the top... pins run left to right...  pin one will be the top left, pin two is the second from the top left... etc.

I can't see so a picture doesn't help me, I'm sorry to say, if someone can
tell me where pin 3 is, I think I'll be fine, I just thought it was odd on
one side, and even on the other, based on the plug I bought on ebay, and how
the jumpers are on that one, obviously I was wrong.

Hi John...

From Henry's picture...with the long row of pins at the top of the
connector...

the first two pins on the top, left are jumpered horizontally...

Thanks, I figured it out, unfortunately, I also broke the plug in the
process. Not my morning, I'll figure something out though.

My description of Henry's picture shows that he does not use a plug but
probably uses a computer or hard drive jumper in it's place...

My description is of the socket on the chassis, not of any plug that goes
into it.

There is evidently an internal speaker that is enabled with this
configuration...do you need an external speaker?

I'm trying to wire up an external speaker, but I broke my plug so I'm going
to just try to use part of the plug as a template and work with what I have.
I hope I get it right, I did figure out the pinout I think, after the plug
came apart. Oh well, now I can reuse the same contacts. lol, I'll be fine
now.
