Hi James,

As we were in a bit of hurry to get the web stuff going, I suggested
to Kathie that she go ahead and reserve northeasternherbaria.org. Too
presumptuous on my part. It can certainly be brought up for
discussion.

In regards to CNEH.org, would having an acronym-like URL that is
different from our actual acronym be confusing?

On other ideas out there...?

Hi Patrick and Kathie,

I agree. Let's go ahead and get this domain name and get a presence
up. We can always make aliases later. Thanks to you both for moving
this forward.

I actually went ahead and bought this domain last week, so we are
definitely owners of the longish domain northeasternherbaria.org

I'm not opposed to buying a second, shorter name if there's a pull for
that--domain names are cheap. But I think it would be confusing to
have a web address that's similar to our chosen acronym, CNH (CNH.org
is not available).

I'd be further along with the site, but I made an error designating
nameservers and had to redo it on Monday--so the domain name hasn't
yet propagated but should be up very soon. whoops. Once the site is
live I will be able to get our existing content up fairly quickly, and
then will start to work on the bells and whistles over the longer
term. Thanks for your patience.

Perhaps in a section about links we could add the link for the
California Consortium, and another from Canada that I just learned
about yesterday (Sue Meades offfered to include our link in their
whenever it is ready).
