A few of the possibilities that we discussed are provided below. I'm
sure that I have failed to include some suggestions, so feel free to
add to the list. A few possible acronyms are provided for each name
and this could be added to as well.

Why don't we comment on and make additions to this list for one week.
If we seem to gravitate toward a consensus then we can avoid voting.
If after some discussion things seem undecided, we can vote by email
for our top three choices.

1) Northeastern Herbarium Network, NHN, NEHN

2) Northeastern Network of Herbaria, NNH, NNOH

3) Northeastern Consortium of Herbaria, NCH, NECH, NCOH, NECOH

4) Northeastern Herbarium Consortium, NHC, NEHC

5) Northeastern North American Herbarium Consortium, NNAHC, NENAHC

6) Northeastern North American Consortium of Herbaria, NNACH, NENACH

7) Northeastern America Consortium of Herbaria, NACH, NEACH

8) Consortium of eastern North American Herbaria, CENAH, COENAH

9) Consortium of Northeastern Herbaria, CONH, CONEH

10) Eastern North American Consortium of Herbaria, ENACH, ENACOH

Hi all,

I have included some of the titles we discussed yesterday, and the
NEACH acronym for the group is only provisional (when we have the
final version we can have the final and official name of the group).

Cheers!,

Alina.

Hi all,

I think I like # 9 the best:

"Consortium of Northeastern Herbaria"

But, I'd probably make the acronym short and sweet: CNH

Others? Keep thinking!?!

Best,

Michael

My first choice would be #3 NECH, second would be #9 CNH.

Enjoy the heatwave!

As long as everyone feels included by the term "Northeastern" I like
the simplicity of NHN, NHC, or CNH. I do have a sense of humor, but
don't particularly want to be informally known as "CONEHeads"!

My first choice would be also NECH (option 3).

Also, did we decide on a deadline to have the mission, goals and
acronym ready?
Or did we set up a deadline for the website?

Cheers!

Alina.

Hi,

I wanted to comment about the banners, but did not where to do it, so
I hope you do not mind reading it here.

I liked very much the options 3 or 4 of the banner. Since our
collections include not only vascular plants, but algae, fungi,
perhaps we do not need to include the representations of any group (I
like ferns, but then I am thinking, "I would like to have a flower
added too").

Cheers!

Alina.

Hi Alina,

Thanks for the comments. I made a copy of your post in the Web site
discussion thread and would like to ask folks to post website
questions there.
