The Matassa Lab of the UConn Department of Marine sciences seeks a post-doctoral research associate to synthesize and analyze spatial data from a variety of Long Island Sound benthic habitat surveys with the goal of developing decision support tools for marine resource management in the region.
The project is multi-faceted and includes field work (aboard the RV Connecticut), stakeholder surveys, and a stakeholder workshop to inform decision tool development. The post-doc will report to me, but the project team includes multiple PIs (and a project manager) from UConn (Peter Auster, Ivar Babb, Jim O'Donnell, Kaylan Randolph), U. New Haven (Chris Conroy, Roman Zajac), as well as USGS, LDEO, and CT-DEEP. So, there will be a lot of networking opportunities for folks who are interested in both academic and non-adacemic careers.
The position is externally-funded is for 2 years and is based at UConn Avery Point in Groton, CT. The beginning salary range for this position is $56-60K/year, commensurate with experience. More details and instructions to apply can be found here:
