The Division of Ecological Restoration (DER), an agency under the Department of Fish and Game, restores and protects rivers, wetlands, and watersheds for the benefit of people and the environment. The Division of Ecological Restoration works with community-based partners to restore aquatic ecosystems. The Division's ecological restoration work supports the recovery and protection of ecosystems and resilient human communities throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are currently hiring for a full-time Ecological Restoration Grants Manager. 

The Ecological Restoration Planner (Regional Planner III) will play a critical role to develop and employ restoration planning and GIS capabilities that will support the work of DER’s programs and partners. Operating under the newly developed Technical Services Branch, this is a unique opportunity to play a part in creating the foundation for a vital area of DER’s work. The Technical Service Branch provides restoration planning, engineering assistance, knowledge management, and other services in support of DER’s restoration programs, operations, and communications. Join a team of habitat restoration professionals to increase the scale and pace of ecological restoration across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Description: Division of Ecological Restoration (DER) seeks an experienced professional that is looking to make an impact on our planet. This position will develop and employ restoration planning and GIS capabilities, as well as cultivate the Division's expertise, resources, and collaborations. The candidate will work closely with other staff, as a part of the Technical Services Branch, to support the planning needs for a diverse range of restoration projects including wetland restoration, river and stream continuity, dam removal, cranberry bog restoration, and regional restoration partnerships.  The outcomes of this work will build DER and partner capacity to identify and pursue high-value restoration opportunities at the landscape level and increase the pace, scale, and impact of restoration throughout Massachusetts.
