We have a physical science technician position open that will be a 2 year term position, renewable for up to 2 additional years, under schedule A(r). This hiring schedule allows us to bring in someone that has recently completed an eligible internship (within 2 years). Most internships are eligible but may need to receive approval from the HR manager.
The position description is attached, but briefly, we are looking for a technician to work on projects relating to shellfish adaptation to ocean acidification. Duties will include performing biological and chemical sampling of seawater and shellfish, using and maintaining laboratory equipment, generating and organizing data, and some animal husbandry. Some field work will be required in sandy and rocky intertidal areas.
This position is located in the NOAA Fisheries lab in Milford, CT, and work must be done on site. The work is full time and eligible for all benefits offered to competitive civil service federal employees.
