Subject: URGENT-Definitely "NO" to the Route #1 for the Puget Sound Energy Sammamish-Juanity 115 kV transmission line project along the 124th Ave
Dear Honorable Council Members,
We have been living at 12328 NE 97th Street, Kirkland (corner of NE 97th St and 124th Ave) since 1997. We have been shocked and saddened with the pending decision of Puget Sound Energy to run one of the alternate routes (Route # 1) for the Sammamish-Juanity 115 kV transmission line project along the 124th Avenue, just next to our Consulate General Office.
As you can think of, any health hazard project like routing any high energy power lines that generate extremely high magnetic fields around them and that may cause fatal illnesses should be prohibited in highly populated residential and school areas. Because of that, as our representatives, I would kindly ask every council member to take a stance against this health hazard project and not to run any power lines (Route #1) along residential 124th Street.
Thank you very much in advance for voicing the concerns of the North Rose Hill residents to PSE and look forward to hearing the good news from you.
Sincerely,
John U. Gokcen
Honorary Consul General of Republic of Turkey
