Dear Council Members,
With the pending decision about the route for the Puget Sound Energy Sammamish-Juanity 115 kV transmission line project, I wanted write you to state our (my wife and I) opposition to route #1.
We live on 124th Ave, just North of 97th St (technically our
address is on NE 97th St, but our house sits along 124th). Not only do we already have power lines right in
front of our driveway, we are also looking at the power lines that run
on the East side of 124th. Additionally, we are close to and can see the
steel lattice towers of the Seattle City Light's main power lines that run N-S through the park and over the fire
station. You get the picture: I think we are surrounded by enough power
lines and object to having a fourth one near our house.
Truthfully, when I first received the flier from PSE about the
project
and saw the three route alternatives, it seemed obvious that
route #3 (Willows Rd) would be the favored one. That is, it seemed to
provide the best access for PSE equipment, less disruption for traffic
for the duration of the project and, most important, the least long term impact on
residents, their neighborhood and home values.
As you represent the residents of our North Rose Hill neighborhood and voice your concerns to PSE, we would like you to include our opposition to route #1 and suggestion to chose route #3 instead. I have written Barry Lombard with PSE to express this view too.
Kind regards,
Ronald & Alice Huiskamp
