What a dreadful speech. He was again claiming to have saved us from the
*brink* of The Second Great Depression. I was happy to hear a Member of
Congress calling the ObamaConArtist a liar to his face. ObamaCare = "If
you already have insurance, you get to keep it; if you don't have
insurance you'll be forced to buy it." Notice that nowhere in the
speech did he explain that "affordable" for a new insurance policy would
be $4,000 to $5,000 for an individual making $40,000 a year. Notice
that nowhere in the speech did he also point out that the role of the
Insurance Industry in health care will be *expanded*. Notice that when
The ObamaTapDancer compared the legal requirement to buy an insurance
policy for health coverage is like the state requirements for all
drivers to carry auto liability, he neglected to point out that all the
millions of government workers are not given their auto liability
coverage by taxpayers. Expect a constitutionality challenge to the
"mandate," since it's forcing a small minority of taxpayers to cough up
a huge insurance premium all on their own, while also paying taxes to
provide health coverage to government workers and to help pay for the
tax exempt policies provided by private industry employers.

On Usenet, such rudeness is commonplace. But Congress isn't Usenet
and people like Joe Wilson who resort to such astounding acts of
rudeness tend to see their legislation filed in the circular file and
to lose their committee assignments. If Wilson does not immediately
offer the most abject, groveling apology he can muster, he can kiss
his "pull" in Congress goodbye.
Btw, where was this "lie" that Wilson was talking about? Obama was
truthfully stating that illegal immigrants would not benefit from
health care reform.

ObamaConArtist was really lying was when he claimed that the mandate was
going to require people to buy insurance, but it would be "affordable."
$5,000 a year for someone making $40,000 is only considered
"affordable" by people who are already given their health coverage.
Also, he specifically promised during the campaign that there would be
no mandate. He's so much a liar that his nickname is ObamaLiar. I
think the issue with truthfulness about how undocumented aliens will be
affected is fairly complex. But, why do you think that they shouldn't
benefit from health care reform, O Spartakus?

They might benefit if they sign up and pay in, right? I think he was
dancing around that point, because I think he knows that deputizing a
million nurses to do INS checks (essentially the way employers are now
deputized to check everyone at hiring time) would cause the exact
friction he's trying to remove from the system.

Exactly. The haters want to deny our _taxes_ going to their benefits
(despite statistical evidence that illegals pay their way, including
enough taxes to cover their services).
But if the Public Option is going to be financially isolated from The
Government's accounting, then taxes can't get into its fund. So the
haters have one less valid argument.
Don't expect them to realize it, though. (-:
The fact within Obama's fiction ("no benefits for illegals") is that
the bill simply will not recognize them, one way or teh other. So the
"don't ask don't tell" policy that maintains their second-class-
citizen status continues.

And who is *given* health care coverage? Every employer I have worked
for has deducted money from my pay to help pay the premium.

what the average premium for an employee with dependents costs? I'll
tell you - it's about $12,000/year. Do share with us how you plan to

Even with the apology it is quite likely that things will not turn out
well for Wilson. He violated rules of civility and he will pay the price
