Salary: $85-125K Range + more Depends upon exp.
To work with a very fast growing company in a key hands-on role with a
product line that the analysts all call the only key growth sector in
the CRM space.
Should have a demonstrated an ability to learn new industries and
technologies and effectively market high end products.
Should have good all around business skills -- excellent at succinctly
positioning (getting the heart of the value prop).
Product marketers are responsible for defining, developing and
implementing marketing plans to achieve rapid market acceptance and
leading market share within defined market segments. The team holds
primary responsibility for evangelizing the companies positioning and
market differentiation, as well as providing tools, information, and
support to enable the company to effectively sell products and
penetrate market segments. In addition, the PMMs play a key role in
evaluating new product and segment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the analysis, definition and development of key market segments
to understand customer needs & buying process, as well as identify new
product and market opportunities.
Develop "go to market" strategies to penetrate and win identified
market segments, including positioning, product packaging/bundling,
product alliances, demand generation and sales tools. Provide
market-based input to the strategic direction and further development
of the company's product offering.
Drive understanding of product positioning and differentiation
throughout the sales and marketing process. Develop sales tools and
training to communicate strategies, differentiators and vision.
Support key sales engagements.
Take a leadership role with key industry analysts and influencers,
ensuring influencers understand and can articulate the companies'
unique selling proposition to their constituents.
As part of "go-to-market" planning and execution, create business use
cases and case studies, drive pricing process, manage Customer
Advisory Board, and develop business scenarios/story-lines for demos
to be built by pre-sales.
Support brand building and market penetration with trade show
participation, speaking engagements, creation of by-lined articles,
and meetings with press and other influencers.
Education and Work Experience:
Minimum BS in engineering or other technical field (undergraduate
business degree will be considered, but technology degree preferred)
MBA is preferred
Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in marketing, product marketing or
product management for enterprise software (related technologies
considered)
Demonstrated skills in successfully positioning and differentiating
high tech, enterprise products. Proven ability to add value to the
sales process through marketing, sales tools, training and
presentation
Experience briefing and influencing industry analysts. Keen understand
of analyst process and influence factors.
Experienced in writing marketing materials, creating sales tools,
speaking at tradeshows and events, delivering product demonstrations,
and participating in sales calls and presentations
Excellent project management skills, strong writing, and competitive
analysis skills; creative and flexible
Enjoys fast paced environment. Fully self-motivated and strong
self-starter. Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop proficiency in
new markets and with new technologies.
Excellent communicator. Works well in a team-oriented environment.
Skilled at leading and influencing others; experienced in leading
cross-functional teams
Hard working and highly productive
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, but implement tactically
Specific Skills for PMM for Marketing Resource Management
Prior experience with marketing resource management software or in a
brand-marketing environment.
Good understanding and experience with web-based software
Experience with and understanding of advertising and marketing
services providers.
Travel
30% travel, including occasional international travel
