We are currently engaged in a project that is seeking a full time Senior
Data Warehouse / ETL Developer. The Senior Data Warehouse/ETL Developer will
apply knowledge and expertise in data warehousing methodologies and
principles to the design, development, testing, and deployment of business
intelligence/information management solutions for our internal business
customers.
The individual will analyze and maintain an existing complex SQL-based data
warehouse environment utilizing Cognos' DecisionStream ETL tool, to develop
solutions for increased level of functionality and improved performance.
In addition, the individual will be responsible for:
~Design and build ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes using Cognos
DecisionStream
~ETL and database development based on dimensional data models and other
methodologies and techniques
~Designing, implementing and supporting production jobs and schedules on a
rotating on-call basis
~Creation of standardized technical procedures
~Design architecture and data flows
~Performs system analysis, design, and coding for assigned projects
~Leads and participates in design and code walk-through with peers and
project team members
~Develops test plan scripts and conducts unit testing for system
changes/enhancements
~Report design and development
~Analyze source system data to meet report requirements
~Design, build, and maintain the enterprise information management
environment
~Document, analyze, and resolve reported performance and/or functional
problems
~Develop, document, manage, and coordinate all user acceptance testing
~Recommend and document solutions to develop new and/or re-engineer existing
business functionality
~Work with and lead existing team as appropriate, in implementing suggested
solutions
~Coordinate all communications with the Database Management team
The appropriate individual must have proven business and systems analysis
skills and be proficient in data warehousing/information management
methodologies and technologies. Candidates must have hands-on experience
developing databases, data warehouses, data marts, etc., and be
knowledgeable in dimensional models and implementations.
Applicants must also be proficient developing plan scripts and macros in
support of development and testing efforts. This position requires excellent
written, oral communication and presentation skills, as it will require
interaction with senior management, business and technology staff during
project implementations.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
~2+ years in-depth ETL experience utilizing Cognos DecisionStream and/or
related tools, and experience with Cognos Powerplay, Impromptu and
Visualizer tools
~4+ years DB2 and SQL Server development, implementation and support
experience
~Ability to comprehend complex technical and logic flows
~Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through written and verbal
communications
~Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member
~Strong Systems and Business analysis skills ~Must be self motivated and
display high energy
~College degree in computer science or related field a plus
~Leadership/mentoring experience preferred.
