The Database Administrator will have
responsibility to manage the production, test and development environments
and work under minimal supervision.
DBA should have extensive experience working
with Oracle Applications versions 11.0.x and 11i implemented on Sun Solaris
platform (preferably). The Candidate should have a strong UNIX knowledge.
DBA would additionally go ON-CALL on a rotational basis with other DBA's,
which would involve night and weekend coverage of critical systems. Will
have principal ownership of one or more environments. Responsible for the
database design, performance tuning, capacity planning, performing data
change control, installing and upgrading database software, implementing
production, test, development and staging databases. DBA should liaison with
the functional, development and system's administration team to advise on
problems and implement solutions. Administer and implement security
integrity controls. Follow and adhere to policies, procedures and standards
relating to database management, application management, support, and
troubleshooting.

Skills

* Strong knowledge of UNIX (Sun
Solaris preferably), Working knowledge of Windows NT, and 2000.
* Strong Core DBA skills.
* Extensive experience in installing,
upgrading Oracle Applications versions 11.0.x and 11i in a multi-tier
environment in Unix (Sun Solaris preferably) is a must.
* Good understanding of the 11.0.x and
11i architecture and the various application tier and database tier
components.
* Good understanding, experience and
troubleshooting of Oracle Self Service Web Applications (SSWA).
* Good experience with Concurrent
Manager processing, troubleshooting.
* Good experience with cloning system
test and development environments from Production Oracle Applications
environment.
* Very good understanding of Oracle
Internals, Oracle data dictionary and Oracle Advanced Replication.
* Good experience with RMAN (Catalog)
installation interfaced with tape storage (preferably with EMC Enterprise
Data Management software).
* Good experience and in-depth
understanding of Oracle backup and recovery methodologies and first hand
implementation experience of backup/recovery solutions.
* Good first hand experience with
Performance tuning, Capacity Planning, database migrations and upgrades.

Optional Skills
* Experience with data replication
using Shareplex, Spotlight, OnWire and other Quest tools.
* Experience working with Precise
Software.
* Experience with Microsoft SQL
server.
