Lab Technician/Manager

Responsible for all general technical lab duties for SSPG as part of
troubleshooting, validation and debug. Readily works with complex
high-speed high performance boards/modules utilizing the
latest-generation microprocessors, EPLD's, FPGA's and SONET optical
components. Responsible for component sourcing and module kitting as
well as scheduling and completing module fabrication with contract
manufactures. Is capable of quickly debugging boards as well as doing
FPGA programming and test script writing. Rework experience with
fine-pitched surface mount components required. Ability to solve
mechanical issues involving connectors, cables, sockets and thermal
testing.

Must have 4+ years of experience in the lab support of High-Speed
boards/modules in the Telecom and/or communication industry..
Demonstrates strong lab skills including supporting test equipment,
validation platforms and ability/desire to fix most anything.
Scripting ability with TCL/Perl. Capable of doing standard FPGA
programming of moderate complexity. Able to function as well as
support test equipment such as analyzers, oscilloscopes and OmniBERTs.
Has ability to multitask across a wide range of activities.
Demonstrates a keen interest in learning, fixing & solving all
test/validation platform hardware & software support issues.
Experience with VxWorks or Linux a plus.

Experience with SONET/SDH Test Equipment, ADM or optical systems
knowledge, VxWorks.

ASET, technician schooling or equivalent experience
