The Director of Research Computing Resources is an IT leader who
develops, plans, coordinates, and enables the efficient delivery of
centralized Harvard Medical School (HMS) Information Technology (IT)
resources to the HMS research community.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and facilitate the strategic planning, collaboration, and
communications between Harvard Medical School and the research
community
· Provide leadership and direction to advance the medical school's
mission through the strategic use of information technologies and
information management for the research community
· Work with the research community to understand their needs, provide
education about central IT services, prioritize resources, and plan
research IT strategy, and manage the delivery of these services to the
research community
· Institutes quality improvement processes to further enhance service
and product offerings
· Coordinates research IT projects and work within the HMS community
to prioritize the development and deployment of the central IT
infrastructure in support of research
· Represents the IT needs and goals of the HMS research community at
strategic planning meetings within HMS and Harvard University
Requirements
· Significant related experience within a complex educational research
environment
· 8 or more years' related information technology management
experience
· A solid knowledge of IT functional service areas
· Demonstrated communication with staff at all organizational levels
· Previous related supervisory experience
· Experience organizing and managing related complex projects
· An advanced degree in biomedical sciences is preferred
