I have been running ne.general.selected and ne.internet.services.selected
for several years as robomoderated parallel groups to the un-selected
originals.

ne.general.selected was originally created during the Cambridge Rent Control
war due to one particularly disruptive person who's since gone on to disrupt
elsewhere. Whether due to spam cancelling or good luck, I don't see a
whole lot of spam in either un-selected group.

So do these groups still serve a purpose? Does anyone read them rather than
the un-selected versions? As far as I can tell, the answer is no. Unless I
hear from people who actively read the selected groups, I'll shut them down
as interesting experiments that have served their purpose.

PS: I don't even live in New England any more, now I'm in upstate New York
where the chowder is dubious but the bagels are superior. If someone in New
England wanted to take these over, it'd be fine with me. They require a Unix
box with a reliable connection that can run perl5 scripts.
