OK, I've begun collecting data about the various towns I might buy a
house in. I'm trying to rate each town based on probability of there
being one or more suitable Internet access option (by which I mean
faster than ISDN, not over $250/mo, and not BA ADSL). Ideal towns
will be ~25 minutes or less from Marlboro (near 20@495) and to the
north.

I've already collected the information shown below. There are holes
in my data, however, which I have been unable to fill with Dejanews:

- Are there any other local "phone" companies doing DSL like Covad?
Covad's list of towns barely gets out to 128, and I'm looking out
along 495.

- Are any of the other cable companies talking about impending
Internet service? There's Charter and Greater Media in a few towns
each in my target area...

Here's the upshot of my search so far:

Have or will soon have something:

Marlborough: Covad Q199, M1X now
Sudbury: Covad Q199, Cablevision without data
Westborough: Covad Q399, Greater Media without data
Clinton: M1X now
Lancaster: M1X now
Bolton: M1X now

Rumoured to eventually have something:

Hudson: Cablevision without data
Stow: Cablevision without data
Boxboro: Cablevision without data
Littleton: Cablevision without data
Ayer: Cablevision without data
Maynard: Cablevision without data

Unknown chance of ever having something:

Berlin: Charter Communications without data
Harvard: Charter Communications without data
Northboro: Greater Media without data
Boylston: Greater Media without data
Shrewsbury: Shrewsbury Community Cable without data
