Looks like the long wait is over<grumble>. I just placed my order with an
install the week of 2/9. All you Somerville people better get on the
phone asap. Orders are first come first served. Now I just have to wait
and see what kind of performance RCN will deliver...

Great!
What # did you call? RCN hasn't been too good at providing this kind
of information.

Thanks

Divx is a proprietary format not endorsed by the DVD Forum.
Divx is a migration path to a pay-per-view society.
Divx was created by Circuit City and a law firm.
Divx wants your credit card and phone line.
Divx is not DVD, it's an abomination.

Really? In Somerville?

I just called and was told that it's still not available in
Somerville, and the woman I talked to ("Diane") said they had *not*
been given the go-ahead to take orders, and she had no firm date for
when service would be available. (This was at 1-800-RING-RCN, not the
local offices, but that is the official number for placing orders.)

This, after r_roytman@my-dejanews had reported here that supposedly
the CEO had been promised it would be available by today.... Sigh.
