In the discussion about a decent priced burger, I mentioned
the Miracle of Science on Mass Ave. between MIT and Central Sq.
I hadn't had a burger there in a while but last Fri., a friend
and I were jonesing for a burger and boy, did that hit the spot.
I don't think I've ever said "this meat is so good", but it was
very flavorful, about 10 oz. and comes with those herbed roasted
potatoes. $6.50 for a hamburger, $7 for a cheeseburger. The
only complaint is that altho the potatoes are good, it'd be nice
to have the option of fries but they don't have them. They
have the same few things on the menu all the time (some skewers,
a few good salads, some Mexican type stuff and a couple other
sandwiches) but it's all done very well.

More than worthy of mention in "The Great Boston Burger Quest" is
the Eagle Deli at Cleveland Circle in Brookline, at the end of
the C branch of the T Green Line.

Eagle’s Deli
1918 Beacon St., Cleveland Circle
(731-3232)
T: Cleveland Circle.
Eagle’s Deli has it all. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
served fresh and fast. You can watch the food being
cooked right before you by their chefs. They have
everything you would expect a deli to have and more.
Eagle’s Deli is the home of the "Godzilla Burger." $.

But for a real story of finding the holy grail of burgers
(at least by sheer massive size), be sure to read the news
article about the Eagle Deli at:

The Eagle is pretty good altho their fries aren't so great.
Those humungous burgers (and other sandwiches) are a little
much tho.

I thought of another place that I think is good and definitely
cheap. The burger/flame broiler place in the Prudential food
court. I think those burgers are decent and the fries are hand
cut too if I remember correctly. You get those with a drink for
about $5 or so.

"Flamers."

Any USENETter has to love the name; it's good for a giggle if nothing
else. Food's not too bad for a food court joint either.
