Anyone try the knee pads with the 3DO material in them?  Curious if it works well.

Also, I need a new battery for my LED bike light. 8.4 V magicshine type.  I'm looking for one that is better than the stock garbage that died after 60 days.

Thanks,

Mike - The guy that used to ride bikes

Mike - shoot me a note - I've got an idea for you on the battery/lights situation.

I have two old batteries.  Did not test lately. They last less than 2 hours.

Let me clarify, I'm looking for a recommendation on which battery to buy new from DX or Amazon etc that will last longer than the original.

Thanks!

Mike

I'm listening in on this thread, as I have a dead magicshine...but no real impetus to fix it yet, b/c my other Magicshine knock off is working (for now).

It appears there are more than a few people that have had this issue, here are a few links to peruse:

Hate to say it, but it's probably a cheaper option to go buy a new Chinese knock off light, that will come with a new battery...and likely be brighter than that Magicshine...

Thanks Chris.  I actually have the ultrafire from DX and not a MS branded light.  I was looking on Amazon at the reviews for various batteries but they are all over the place.  In some cases a complete light is cheaper but still a gamble on the battery side.   Maybe I should just get a holder and use my existing 18650's or just order a battery pack for under $20 and see what happens.

This looks kind'a interesting, but it's just a case/holder. Not sure if the supplied connector will work with magicshine. I do like that you can choose your own 18650's, and have the convenience of a multi output cable options. It would be nice to have on summer camping trips where I use my iphone for gps ride plot duties, and not have a convenient place to recharge afterwards...

Mike, I got my replacement batteries from this place:

I spoke with the guy before I bought them and I've been very happy with them. They work perfectly over last couple years. He also has a whole bunch of other light products you can check out. I'm not sure if this is the best option out there, you guys probably know more than I do about electronics (let's hope so).

As for kneepads a couple of guys that I know are riding with the G-form pads and they love them because you barely notice you're  wearing them, they don't move, they are very light, and they protect your knee pretty darn well. Might want to check them out. But don't you need pads that  just work on a rug anyway cause I think that's what you're going to use him for mostly right? Dave

Anyway hope this helps. Dave

On the knee pad topic, Anyone have opinions on G-Form vs POC

G-Form - http://g-form.com/index.php/pro-x-knee-pads.html
POC - VPD 2.0 - http://www.pocsports.com/en/product/1794/joint-vpd-2-0-knee

I actually used my knee pads when I painted the porch. But the D3O are not good . They get hard only when you hit them with speed.  For flooring projects use normal pads.
