I used to crew for ultraswimmers and thought everyone here might find this interesting.


He was in the water for a little over 2 days straight with no sleep.  Longest continuous open water swim in history.  His female counterpart trying to duplicate it right now.

Just legendary.

That is absolutely insane. I swam competitively ( and poorly :D )  for years - I can't imagine being in the water for more than 6 hours, let alone a day or more.

Exactly what Andrew said.  Training for 1650 yard race in a pool was enough for me - open water for 160k?  He's from another planet.
