Ride Studio Cafe in Lexington MA (http://ridestudiocafe.com) is
hosting a kick-off to the 2012 brevet season with a party, bike show
and ride on Saturday, March 31. What goes better with randonneurring
than coffee?
Anciens and anciennes, come mingle with new folks intrigued by brevets
and share your stories and photos. Not only that, but you can show off
your bike and check out other bikes while enjoying RSC's outstanding
hospitality. Food and drink provided by RSC. The bike show and party
start at 6:30PM.
The bike show will give you a chance to show off your bike and win a
cool prize. It will give attendees a chance to check out others'
approach to brevet bikes, lights and assorted gear and then vote on
their favorite machine. Special guests speakers including multi-time
PBP premiere feminin, Melinda Lyon, as well as RSC Enduro team rider,
Matt Roy, with tips on preparing your bike for the long haul. Pamela
Blalock, veteran of 6 fleche rides, will talk about her favorite
event, the Fleche. Emily O'Brien will have some of her great
saddlebags on display as well.
We will also have pictures from PBP and other brevets playing on a
video screen. We need your help here. Please send us photos from
brevets and/or PBP. We'll throw them all together to display
throughout the night.
If you plan to show your bike, send us a brief description of what is
cool about your bike, and we'll print up a card to hang on the bike
for the show.
Prior to the party, a 110 km ride will depart from Lexington at noon.
GPS and cue sheets will be provided. John Bayley and Pamela Blalock,
along with other RSC team members will lead small groups along this
fun route out to Lost Lake Road in Groton.
