400K Permanent?

Good afternoon everyone,

 Hoping to accomplish a super randonneur series this year (fingers crossed). Realized that the upcoming Portland Daytrip 400k is the same weekend as the Trek Across Maine. Is there a permanent version of that route or does anyone have a suggestion for a good 400k permanent in the area?
  I feel like I am tempting fate in a major way by asking before even closing out a 300k, but if there are no good options i should think about skipping the Trek.

Hi Christian. Nothing wrong with planning ahead. If you want the SR award from RUSA, you'll need to ride the 400k as an event, not a perm. The closest 400k event is out of Westfield (New Horizon Bikes) on June 4th. I've ridden this route and enjoyed it. If you don't mind traveling, there are also events in Long Island, New Jersey, and upstate NY.

As it turns out, there aren't any 400k perms within 400 miles of Boston at the moment. Perms tend to be mostly short (sub 300k) and whatever reason 400k hasn't been a popular distance. If interested, someone (myself perhaps) can submit the Portland route as a perm or you could design and submit your own route.

Actually there is a 400k perm starting in Ithaca, NY going around a 11 Finger Lakes. My riding partner devised the route. It is called Around the Finger Lakes.
