Hi NERds:

thanks, so much, to the volunteers who made this weekend's rides possible: Sarah and Tsun, especially, but also to others at the overnight control whose names I (bleary?) did not catch, and who made it a wonderful ride. So much work in the scene and behind the scene to make it run. Thank you!

I put up a handful of photos (blurry?) of the start + en route here; would love to see others.

Thank you so much, Tsun and Sarah (and all of the volunteers) for putting on such an epic event. I especially need to thank Tsun for his encouragement and support as I dealt with mechanical issues and was contemplating abandoning the ride in Westbrook. I would not have had the mental strength to continue if not for Tsun's advice/ encouragement.

Big thank you to Tsun, Sarah, Roger, Matt, and everyone out on the road. I decided to embrace the DNF and my wife picked me up at Westbrook. I really love this route, I might even like it more as a 400K. This was the day that will forever live in my memory as the day I decided Gravel tires do not work as road tires. The ride that makes me swear off gravel tires on the road. I appreciate the circumstances that led me to this conclusion.

Can't wait to see everyone at the 1200K!

Hi Pierre:  

  On the gravel tire front, you have someone who is more stubborn to convince.  You may not necessary come to a right conclusion for everyone, but I digress and may get myself sent off to a boarding school to be re-educated about this subject matter.  I also want to thank you being the catalyst for making this route happen, i.e. introducing me to People’s Perch.  

  I also would have never thought I send riders to the sleepy town of Denmark ME and that would be coinciding with their Fourth of July Celebration and the very obvious answer of the info control question is being obstructed by the crowd.

I would like to note that the town celebration in Denmark put an astonishingly prompt cheeseburger and fries right on the route at a critical point. Also some rousing country classics. 10/10

That was very cool to see the fireworks by luck. I propose there should be fireworks controls at every NER ride going forward at the evening controls.
