to NERds
Hey NERds. As is the tradition, we have one last ride of the year plus a small gathering on Nov 1st.

The ride starts at 7:30am and is a 82 mile route to Northborough and Harvard MA. Stops include the excellent Aero Coffee Roasters in Northborough (Mile 35), and the classic Harvard General Store (52 miles). The route uses small back roads and bike paths. Entirely paved. The general public is going to hung over from too much candy the night before so it should be a good morning for cycling.

Once back in Medford, we'll have lots of chili and other snacks. Stick around and chat about next year as to talk about the 1200k and other fun events planned.

At 3pm is our annual Members Meeting. This meeting is required by our Bylaws. Current NER members are welcome to discuss any topic on their mind -- there is currently no set agenda. Traditionally the formal part of the meeting last a few minutes before we resuming snacking and chatting.

There is no cost for populaire but registration is required and you MUST be a current RUSA member. Tip: If you join or renew your RUSA membership now, it will be valid through the end of 2026.

Registration (required) is at http://ner.bike

Separately there is also a 65 mile CRW ride leaving from the same location at 8:30am. Much of the route is the same, only cutting out the westernmost section. If you have a friend who is a CRW member and is randonneuring-curious, let them know about the event.

Way back in 2006, Emily and I went on a CRW ride organized by Bruce Ingle which also ended with a party at his house. As he was the Boston RBA at the time, most people on the ride and party were randonneurs. Speaking to these other riders got me interested in RUSA. I'm hoping the same thing can happen on Nov 1st.
