Hello NEPARC,

The University of Vermont is seeking applicants for two full-time, temporary Spotted Turtle Field Technicians. Please see the attached document for information about compensation, qualifications, etc.

Applications for all positions will be due March 22nd, 2024.

General Information:
The Wildlife Ecology Research Lab (WERL; https://werl-uvm.mystrikingly.com/) is seeking to hire 2 Spotted Turtle field technicians for the 2024 summer field season. We seek highly motivated individuals with an interest in herpetology, ecology, conservation, and management. These positions are designed to be entry level to allow individuals to gain important field experience. Please apply if you are looking for your first field opportunity. However, while entry level, please keep in mind that field work is inherently difficult. Work may include travel to remote field sites (transportation provided), working in hot temperatures, rain, and other inclement conditions for long hours. A positive attitude is a must for these positions. We particularly encourage applications from candidates from underrepresented backgrounds and identities. Training will be provided.

General Position Description:
All positions are full-time, temporary. Exact dates will vary, but this project will run from April to early August and can be adjusted depending on the candidate’s needs. While technicians will be hired for the Spotted Turtle project, they will have the chance to gain experience by spending time on other ongoing projects in the WERL. Due to the inherent nature of field work, work day flexibility is necessary. Weekend work and overnight travel may be required depending on weather conditions and field site locations. Applications for all positions will be due March 22nd, 2024.

How to apply:
Please submit 2 pdfs: a cover letter and resume. Applications should be emailed to akal...@uvm.edu. In your cover letter please state why you are interested in this position, a brief description of your qualifications, and available work dates.

For information and questions about these positions please email akal...@uvm.edu.
