I am conducting a questionnaire related to the foraging behavior of the North American Wood Turtle (Glyptemys insculpta). If you have observed/worked with this species in the wild or in captive settings, I kindly ask for your participation:
Intended participants: Those with experience observing Wood Turtles in the wild and/or in captivity.
Purpose: The purpose of this questionnaire is to gather information about the foraging behavior of the Wood Turtle (Glyptemys insculpta). More specifically, I am interested in the “worm stomping” behavior demonstrated by Wood Turtles. Observations of the absence or presence of this behavior, and associated information, are sought from across the geographic range of the Wood Turtle and for individuals in captive settings. This survey is expected to take 15–20 minutes to complete. Those with extensive experience with the species and those who are willing to fully share their experience might exceed this time range.
This questionnaire asks participants to provide generalized (coarse-scale) location information for Wood Turtle populations. I acknowledge that geographic information about the Wood Turtle is sensitive information and have designed this questionnaire with this in mind.
There is currently no end date for this survey (If this survey is available, answers are still being accepted). You are encouraged to share this questionnaire with others who have experience with Wood Turtles, in the wild or captivity. Thank you for your participation!
