Good morning,

Does anyone have attendance letters set up for students who may have shorter schedules? Our senior students have the option to only take 5 courses rather than the full load of 8 periods. Is there a good way to create attendance letters for students in this situation? Our letters right now are not taking their shortened day into account. Below is a clip of how our 10 day letter is set up now.

Thanks

I switched to using the absenteeism level so I could incorporate the exact minute calculation.  It will handle shortened days appropriately, but this will change your logic to use calculated period minutes based on your period schedule setup.

That does look better, thank you.

So do your seniors have open periods that are not attendance taking periods? I just pulled our ADM&ADA Detail Report and all of my seniors attendance totals are off.

so for that it will calculate similar to the state.  For instance, we have a 4-period day at our HS, but if a student has only three attendance-bearing courses, each absence will count as a 1/3rd day absence.

Are they enrolled in a 4th course that is a non-attendance course or is that 4th period/block just left open?  We have our kids in a non-attendance course.

They are enrolled in the 4th course with no attendance checkbox.
