Dear ,
please give a explanation , whether we can able to perform PAUT ON CLADDING MATERIALS OR NOT...
8MM CS CLADDING ON 90 MM THICKNESS ...PLEASE NEED INFORMATION REGARDING THIS..send me any related data if its with you..

 We can perform PAUT or PAUT + TOFD. 

But we cannot perform only TOFD.

Before performing PAUT, you should first validate the technique by preparing a validation block as per ASME 2235 (code case) using the same material. And keep a notch below the weld and also on the open surface and 99% chances are you will detect all indications.

So go ahead with PAUT teja.

cladding with different material will be changes its velocity , then how can we adopt...
can you provide any explanation please..

Ji cladding will have some velocity changes you are right..but in PAUT the velocity changes will be negligible, for this only we need to demonstrate on a validation block as i said... But am sure we can identufy the defects.

if we take a cladding pipe with different material how can we find the
second backwall echo

especially cs+nickel alloy cladding

nickel alloy is a coarsgrain material so heavy scattiring ra./

can you explain me pls.......

For cladding, using pulse echo we will get the penetrated thickness. There will not be much Acoustic impedance miss match. For this purpose we are validating on the known parameters block to set the settings. So we will get the exact thickness in PAUT.

In tofd we get the interface between parent material & Clad material... 


we can consider rft for the individual cladded, parent material thicknesses.

IN PA pulse echo we shall use rectified signal i.e. A-scan for this purpose..

We have sucessfully demonstrated the tp316 & CS cladding material..
