I think all of us have at some point been both interested and afraid of the idea of HAL 9000 in our computers, but Flickr user ts_looney actually made it happen, thanks to a creative Rainmeter skin that did most of the work for him. Best of all, it's actually useful.
The HAL 9000 theme replaces the start orb with HAL's eye, and it drops that iconic HAL 900 panel right in the center of the desktop. If you poke HAL in the eye on that panel, he'll talk to you. That's fun, but the theme's usefulness comes from the eight panels that surround HAL: Each one can be customized to show an images or Flickr photos, your favorite RSS feed, current weather conditions at your location, your GMail inbox, weather radar images, Wikipedia and Google search tools, local hard drives, system status, and more.
This theme is actually ts_looney's handiwork, so if you really like it, head over to his Flickr page to let him know you like it, or his DeviantArt page to ask about the theme. If you're new to Rainmeter, check out our guide to get started with it. If you create a good-looking HAL desktop, make sure to share it with us in the discussions below!

I tried to change my unraid network mtu setting to 9000 and I tested 2000 as well. But after hitting the Apply-button it does not finish loading the page. As I parallel leave the webterminal window open I was able to reset the MTU as follows:
yah very strange... if i set the MTU to 9000 on the unraid i loose the webui. It won't connect but everything else is available like the shared folders and copying is fast as going from Windows 10 to windows 10 which both are set to MTU 9000. If i change it back to 1500 on unraid webui available again... very weird
I have been waiting since Launchbox themes were introduced for someone to move things around in the game details bar, and that looks really good images up top, info down below. Does it support videos as well or is it images only?
That looks excellent, you definitely should upload it. looking at the screenshots I'll be setting that as my new main LaunchBox theme really great. Ref the licence code, it looks like you still have the code in there to me.
We've all come to expect some pretty awesome themes for Big Box from this community, but LaunchBox themes are hard to come by, ones this well done even more so. Keep up the good work. Need to get the license thing nailed down to always be visible, but overall I think you are definitely onto something here and I look forward to seeing where you take it.
In regard to the XAML code I REALLY wouldn't worry too much about it. I can tell you from personal experience that we have some people in this community who have gotten pretty damn awesome with XAML and how to use it in themes, and all of them are down to earth, helpful, and supportive. If you really would like to optimize it before releasing it you have resources at your disposal here in the community to help with that endeavor, but really if the theme works without significant loss of performance VERY FEW people are even going to open the XAML up to even see it.
PLEASE NOTE: Below is the portion of the theme that displays the licensed user name. It is required that this info is displayed in the title bar for licensing reasons. Themes that attempt to hide or alter the licensed user name will not be permitted; they will be removed from the forums and banned from future releases of LaunchBox.
@shadowfire This theme indeed looks amazing. Thanks for your work on it and I do hope that you can share it. I'm fine with moving the license info; my apologies that it's a thing at all, but since we're DRM free, it's our only method of preventing people from sharing or using pirated licenses, so it is somewhat important that it's displayed somewhere. That said, it doesn't really matter a whole lot where, so long as it's there.
This theme looks beautiful I really love how you used the bg fanart both as blur for the entire window as well as in gradient behind the game title on the details for unity. Sexy and clever. I would love to have the video preview located where the screenshots are, nevertheless I would still use it as it is
Hi, I've been looking for a way to switch the theme of Windows from bright to dark and the other way. I wanted it to be a part of a script which would change themes of various programs and IDE's. Is there's a command or an environment variable which would allow to do so?
I made a graphical interface for an simple bash script and some graphics, partly from the Internet, for interface for Mycroft Linux. I am fine tuning it but it all seems to work fine!
I made some themes. Star Trek, K.I.T.T, HAL9000 and J.A.R.V.iS.
The interface is animated and can be easily themed or changed!
They are DWORD values and when set to 1, then Light Mode is selected. When 0, then Dark Mode is selected. I don't understand why this is difficult, but hopefully the developer(s) will either update the documentation that falsely promises dark mode support (and advertise only "high contrast theme" support) or start using the appropriate settings.
Powerlevel9k is used to create a theme for ZSH shell. It is used to create both very useful and beautiful terminal environments. This will allow you to get more out of your terminal and impress everyone.
Hinged on the side, casement windows swing outward like a door, providing excellent air circulation into your home. They are also one of the most energy efficient operating windows because of their tight seal when closed.
Good design and correct installation are important factors in ensuring energy efficient windows, but glass performance plays the biggest role. Different glass options have different benefits so, before choosing your glass, be sure to consider the weather conditions of where you live. Colder climates will require more insulation power and specific glass coatings to improve energy efficiency.
Dual Clear Glass
Two panes of glass with no special coating applied. The panes are spaced a inch apart and the air between the panes acts as an insulation barrier, making your windows more energy efficient.
I also added a track of the theme music to the SD card, and adjusted my code such that it plays whenever the button is pressed (Found out the other day that my 1-yo daughter LOVES the song, so now it's always a button-press away).
Us developers spend lots and lots of time staring at our terminals (along with our IDE, of course). It makes sense to customize the way they look and feel to our liking. After all, having a colorful and good looking shell window can increase ones' productivity and dev skill by up to 500% which translate to over 9000+ business values!!!! (Just kidding, it was just a fun procrastinating thing to do while having an insomnia ?).
The Powerline9k theme (and many other themes) uses some special characters (e.g. the arrow looking character) that are non-standard. These font packs are designed specifically for uses with themes like these. You can install them using the quick install command below or manually by visiting this link.
It's almost time for CES 2021, and one of the first PC vendors out of the gate with product announcements is Dell, which is unveiling new business PCs today. To start, the firm introduced new Latitude PCs across its entire range. The Latitude 9000 series was brand-new last year, so the Latitude 9420 and 9520 are second-generation products.
One of the things that's new for the 9000 series is an automatic camera shutter. Privacy guards have been becoming popular over the last few years, but this one is different because it will automatically open or close based on when an app is requesting it. The feature is called SafeShutter. The premium business laptops also get support for Wi-Fi 6E and 5G, something that was exclusive to the 15-inch model last year. On the 9420 2-in-1, there's also a new QHD option.
The Latitude 7000 series is getting new stuff as well, such as a new Latitude 7320 Detachable tablet. On the clamshell side of things, there's a new 7320, 7420, and for the first time, a 15.6-inch 7520. The new Latitude 7520 offers up to a UHD display, a rarity on Latitudes. Indeed, even the premium 9000 series doesn't offer that. However, while the 9000 series is offering 16:10 displays this year, the 7000 series is till 16:9 except for the Latitude 7320 Detachable.
