Armstrong, tourism officials to give updates on TR Presidential Library grand opening, ND250 events
BISMARCK, N.D. (MAY 5, 2026) – Gov. Kelly Armstrong will join officials from North Dakota Tourism, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation and National Park Service at a press conference Wednesday in Medora to highlight the historic upcoming summer tourism season in North Dakota, including ND250 celebrations across the state and the July 4th grand opening of the presidential library in Medora.
Armstrong has proclaimed May 3-9 as North Dakota Travel and Tourism Week in alignment with National Travel and Tourism Week. The annual observance recognizes the importance of travel to the state and highlights the welcoming spirit residents share with visitors.
Joining the governor will be state Tourism and Marketing Director Sara Otte Coleman, library Executive Director Robbie Lauf, foundation CEO Clarence Sitter, and Theodore Roosevelt National Park Superintendent Rachel Daniels. Speakers will highlight what visitors can expect this summer, including expanded programming, anticipated visitation patterns and efforts to ensure a safe, well-coordinated experience during ND250.

On April 7, Armstrong issued an executive order directing state agencies to have personnel and resources ready to assist and respond as needed to the America 250 celebrations over the July 4th holiday, including the grand opening of the presidential library in Medora.
