Christmas Tree Collection Scheduled for January 5-16

Residents should place Christmas trees on the boulevard on their regular garbage collection day

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – As winter weather allows, City of Fargo crews will collect used Christmas trees from Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 16. After January 16, collection may require a fee. Residents should place trees on the boulevard by 7 a.m. on their regular garbage collection day.

Residents are asked to follow these guidelines:

  • Trees must be placed on the boulevard for collection (not in alley).
  • Remove all lights, ornaments, stands and plastic bags.
  • No artificial trees will be collected from the boulevard; they can be placed in the garbage.

Additionally, Fargo residents may haul brush, logs up to 10 inches in diameter and other tree debris to the Fargo Landfill at no charge. The landfill is located at 4501 7th Ave. N. and is open year-round. The operating hours for the landfill are 7:15 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. The landfill will be closed Thursday, January 1, for the New Year’s Day holiday. Proof of residency is required to utilize landfill services.
