Fargo Police, Red River Valley SWAT Team Safely Execute High‑Risk Warrant
Coordinated operation results in successful arrest of two individuals
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, the Cass County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Red River Valley SWAT Team and The Fargo Police Department, executed a high‑risk search warrant in the 2600 block of 14th St. S.
During the operation, officers arrested 50-year-old Deshun Jones of Fargo on multiple outstanding warrants, including a probation violation related to Fourth-Degree Assault and a Clay County warrant for Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle. Jones was additionally arrested for Class C Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, Second-Offense Possession of Methamphetamine, and Second-Offense Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
A second individual, 20‑year‑old Mya Paul of Fargo, was also taken into custody for Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, with additional charges pending.
Due to the suspects’ criminal histories and the elevated risk of the operation, a Flash Sound Diversion Device was deployed during the entry to help officers safely take the primary suspect into custody. The deployment triggered the building’s fire alarm system. Once the scene was secured, Fargo Police worked with the Fargo Fire Department to reset the alarms and ensure the building was safe.
This remains an active investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
The Fargo Police Department commends the response of its officers, the Red River Valley SWAT Team, members of the Cass County Drug Task Force and the Fargo Fire Department in ensuring the safety of the public and resolving this situation quickly, and without incident. The FPD is committed to safeguarding our community by demonstrating our core values of Professionalism and Guardianship.
