Fargo Police Arrest Armed Suspect Following Incident on 17th Street South
Suspect taken into custody after officers establish perimeter to ensure public safety
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – On Sunday, January 18, at approximately 10:53 a.m., Fargo Police Officers responded to the 2100 block of 17th Street South after receiving reports of a male suspect pointing a firearm at citizens.
Officers quickly established a perimeter to contain the individual and ensure public safety. After approximately one hour, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been identified as Kevin Byzewski, a 62-year-old Fargo resident. Byzewski was arrested for Terrorizing and was transported to the Cass County Jail. Following the arrest, Fargo Police Officers executed a search warrant at the residence and processed the scene for evidence related to the crime.
Fargo Police Capt. Travis Moser of the Neighborhood Services Division expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation during this incident and commended the dedication of the men and women of the Fargo Police Department. “Incidents like this demonstrate the Fargo Police Department's core values of Professionalism and Guardianship,” Capt. Moser said.
