The City of Fargo Announces Finalists in "Name a Garbage Truck" Contest
Residents can vote for their favorite garbage truck names now through Sunday, March 15
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – The City of Fargo asked residents to share their most creative names for Fargo’s garbage trucks, and they delivered a total of 217 entries. The Solid Waste Department, along with Deputy Mayor Denise Kolpack, the department’s liaison to the City Commission, chose 10 finalists based on creativity, originality and overall appeal. If a name was submitted multiple times, the first entry received was considered.
The following names are finalists:
- Trashasaurus Rex
- Hector the Collector
- Recyclopse
- Landfill Lucy
- Fargo's Trash Bandit
- Trashinator
- Optimus Grime
- Truck Norris
- Garbage Gulper
- Bin Diesel
Residents are encouraged to vote for their favorite garbage truck names online at FargoND.gov/NameaGarbageTruck. Voting is open now until Sunday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m. The top three names will be proudly displayed on our garbage trucks. Individuals who submitted winning names will receive Fargo gear and will have the opportunity to be featured in a video shared on the City’s social media channels.
