Tobacco Compliance Check Results Announced for West Fargo
12 businesses passed recent checks, resulting in 92% compliance rate
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – Tobacco compliance checks were performed in West Fargo on Thursday, June 18, 2026. In total, 13 businesses were checked and 12 passed, resulting in a 92% compliance rate.
Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) conducts compliance checks several times each year, in partnership with law enforcement agencies in Fargo, West Fargo and Cass County. The purpose of the checks is to ensure licensed tobacco retailers are not selling any tobacco, nicotine or vaping products to individuals under the age of 21. FCPH appreciates the cooperation of retailers across Cass County who are committed to following the law and helping prevent youth from accessing these products. Retailers are encouraged to review these requirements regularly and incorporate them into employee training to support consistent compliance.
West Fargo businesses that failed:
- Casey’s General Store – 901 Main Ave. E. – third fail in one year
Penalties in West Fargo:
· First violation – written warning including one-year probation
· Second failure during probationary period – three-day suspension of the tobacco license
· Third failure during probationary period – 10-day suspension of the tobacco license
· Subsequent violations during probationary period – 30-day suspension of the tobacco license
