Residents Encouraged to Vote in City of Fargo Election on Tuesday, June 9
Absentee ballots are available now; early in-person voting begins Tuesday, June 2
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – The City of Fargo election will be held in conjunction with the North Dakota primary election on Tuesday, June 9. Fargo residents will vote for Mayor and two City Commission seats (each with a four-year term), as well as a ballot question on the continuation of the City’s 1% Infrastructure Sales Tax. Additionally, Fargo Park Board, Fargo School Board and statewide races will be on the ballot.
Residents are encouraged to vote one of these ways:
Elections in Fargo are administered by the Cass County Finance Office. For details on voting locations and times, visit CassCountyND.gov/Elections or contact the Cass County Finance Office at 701.241.5600.
To vote in a City of Fargo election, you must be a Fargo resident for at least 30 days prior to the election. You must also be at least 18 years old, a North Dakota resident and a U.S. citizen. There is no formal voter registration process in North Dakota. To vote, simply go to a voting site and present an accepted form of identification. Options include a North Dakota driver’s license, a non-driver’s identification card, an ID issued by a tribal government or a long-term care identification certificate.
Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained at the Cass County Finance Office in the Cass County Courthouse, can be downloaded and printed at CassCountyND.gov/Elections or through the North Dakota Secretary of State's website at vip.sos.ND.gov/Absentee.
