Fargo Fire Department Extinguishes Fire at 1425 Main Ave.
No one was injured in the fire; damage estimate not yet available
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – At approximately 1:26 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, the Fargo Fire Department was dispatched to 1425 Main Ave. in Fargo for a report of pallets on fire near a dumpster, close to a commercial building.
Upon arrival, crews encountered an active fire, and a second alarm was called to bring in additional crews for support. Firefighters extinguished the fire approximately 10 minutes after crews arrived on scene.
The exterior of the commercial building sustained damage; however, no injuries were reported. A portion of Main Avenue was temporarily closed by the Fargo Police Department for a period of time to allow crews to work quickly and efficiently.
The Fire Department responded to the scene with five engines, one ladder truck and two battalion chiefs. The Fargo Police Department and Sanford Ambulance also assisted on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. A damage estimate is not available at this time.
The Fargo Fire Department reminds the community that fire danger is very high due to dry conditions and high winds. Residents and businesses are urged to use extreme caution with any outdoor heat sources and to report any signs of fire immediately.
