The event will take place at the downtown Main Library
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – This week, the Fargo Public Library welcomes canoeing enthusiast Berlin Nelson Jr. to the downtown Main Library on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation featuring his recent adventure in the Northwest Territories of Canada. Nelson, along with three other canoeists, navigated 68 miles on the cold, fast Broken Skull River, surviving the hidden rocks, the standing waves and the tricky currents, then paddled another 104 miles on the South Nahanni River, stopping at Rabbit Kettle Lake and Virginia Falls. All ages are welcome to this free event. For details, contact Lori West at 701.476.5977 or email LW...@fargolibrary.org.
Nelson, professor emeritus of plant pathology at North Dakota State University, has chronicled many of his past outdoor adventures in several personal essays and stories for The Forum.
